What is equine muscle release therapy
emrt™
(Bowen Therapy for Horses)
Horses are athletes. It doesn't matter what work
discipline they do; they put their bodies through
stress and strain the same as human athletes.
However, the difference between horses and humans
is that often they cannot let you know where
it hurts. Sometimes they can appear to be fine
but a trained eye or hand can pick up problems
that otherwise wouldn't be noticed.
The Equine Muscle Release Therapy EMRT™
which is the official Bowen Therapy for horses
is accredited with the Bowen Therapy Academy
of Australia (BTAA). The therapy works on balancing
the whole body and brain of the horse. A thorough
treatment takes approximately one hour.
The great benefits of EMRT show that horses have
consistently higher performance levels and
accelerated injury recovery rates. With regular
treatment EMRT can prevent stress and strains,
relaxing your horse and keeping him happy.
It is not just a treatment for injuries, but
for overall horse health.
EMRT can be used on other animals as well as
horses.
Equine Muscle Release Therapy
(EMRT) is now being used at International Level
in a number of Countries.
EMRT was used by the Gold Medal Winning Australian
Endurance Team at the World Cup- France 2000
– and is the Therapy allowed by FEI &
EFA to be used on the day of the event.
EMRT was the Therapy that helped the Irish Grand
National Winner "Bunny Boiler" to
claim the Cup in 2002.
EMRT works in conjunction with your Vet. EMRT
does not replace Veterinary Treatment, but
EMRT can be used in conjunction with &
complements other Healing Modalities, as EMRT
Activates The Body’s Powerful Natural
Self-Healing Ability.
How does Equine Muscle Release Therapy
work?
EMRT works on the nervous system to put the horses
into balance and to promote horse health.
Most of the EMRT bodywork is concentrated on
connective tissue known as FASCIA. Fascia can
entrap nerves affecting the CNS (Central Nervous
System). The CNS of the horse consists of the
brain and spinal cord. It's like an "Information
Highway" carrying messages to and from
the body and brain. Any disfunction of the
CNS and/or blockages in other parts of the
body can also affect the involuntary nervous
system. The system controls bodily functions
such as Digestion, Heart Rate, Bladder and
Bowel Functions etc.
Other systems address by EMRT Therapy are:-
- Circulation
- Unexplained performance deterioration
- Unexplained resistance
- Irritability
- Uneven muscle development or muscle wastage
- Uneven shoe wear
- Dragging hind feet
- Stiffness on one rein
- Intermittent or unresolved lameness
- Disunited paces
- Sore or cold back
- Filled legs
- Musculo-skeletal issues
- Lymphatic or Lactic Acid imbalance
